Is Your Kettlebell Too Heavy (Or Too Light)?
If your kettlebell is too heavy or too light, don’t cry. Read on…
Kettlebells are a fantastic way to add variety to your workout program. And lots of folks take it even further and make kettlebells the sole focus of their fitness workouts. But one of the major drawbacks of old-style kettlebells is that they are either too light or too heavy for the exercise you happen to be doing.
Kettlebells lack in functionality
Unlike their more modern cousins – barbells and dumbbells – kettlebells are intentionally spartan in the functionality they offer their users. Simply put, they don’t let you adjust the weight up or down so you can work out in just the right rep range for whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish.
So, despite the kettlebell marketers who try to convince you that ‘bells are a one size fits all exercise miracle, lots of users complain that their kettlebell is too light or too heavy.
Don’t complain – a solution exists
The smart ones take action right away and get an adjustable weight kettlebell so they can continue doing the kettlebell movements they prefer, while using exactly the weight that gets them the best results.
The others swallow the traditional kettlebell hype hook, line, and sinker. They believe some of the celebrity kettlebell instructors (who are actually working for kettlebell companies rather than working for their students). These famous instructors tell you that, no matter what sort of problem you seem to be having (such as your ‘bell being the wrong weight), you just need to practice more and buy more instructional material.
Enjoy the best of both worlds
It’s ‘traditional’ to live in caves and die at the age of 30. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have better, more modern alternatives.
It’s time to join the 21st century. Adjustable kettlebells are the natural evolution of this workout style that we all enjoy so much.
Don’t let anyone tell you they’re too expensive. An adjustable bell is less expensive than the 3 (or more) fixed-weight bells it replaces.
